Sunday June 26, 2011

Good morning Harvest Pointers! I hope that you had a wonderful Father's Day and celebrated those special men in your life.

Sunday we have the exciting privilege to participate in World Wide Communion. I am also going to be preaching about communion (or the Lord's Supper). We often take communion but rarely do we hear about the many reasons for communion. It's important to know what it is that we are doing when we come before the table of the Lord.

Friday starts the Church of God North American convention. If you would like to see services online or get any information check it out here: Church of God

Also, plan to stay after church so that we can have some discussion about the Luau that is coming up on August 28th! Have any ideas? Bring them! See you Sunday.

Sermon June 19, 2011

Hello! I hope that you are all well this beautiful morning. This Sunday is a special day - it is Father's Day. We all have men in our lives who have influenced us greatly, who have loved us deeply and who have supported us through life. Take time this week to honor your Father's, Step-Dad's, Fathers-in-law, Grandpa's, Uncle's....and any other men who have served in that role. We love you, men, thank you!

This week we are concluding our series on generosity. The first week we looked at generosity in general - how to be generous of heart, like the Good Samaritan (Luke 10). Last week we focused on generosity of self - using our time and talents for God's purposes and being faithful in the call because we will be held accountable for our actions (2 Corinthians 5:10). This week we are going to focus on generosity of stuff - our tithe and resources. Generosity of stuff is always a hard concept to live by, by God blesses those who are faithful.

I am praying for each one of you, hope to see you Sunday!

Blessings~

Sunday June 12, 2011

Greetings! I hope that you are doing well this beautiful day.

This Sunday I will be continuing our conversation about generosity. Last week we talked about generosity of heart - become truly generous people from within. This week we are going to talk about generosity of self (your time and your talents). What do you have to give God?

I want you all to know that I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as your pastor. You are loved and prayed for!

Sunday June 5, 2011

Good afternoon! I hope that you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! The weather has cleared up and we've seen the beautiful sunshine now for three days in a row!

This week we are moving on to a new topic: generosity. Are we called as people of God to be generous? What does it mean to be generous? Certainly it is not just about money. Come and listen this week as we talk about generosity of heart.

Also, be sure to get up to McKinley Lanes this Saturday for a delightful time of bowling. We will be there from 4-6pm this Saturday, June 4.
