Greetings! For the next few months we are hearing about Biblical hero's. We all have people in the Bible that we relate to more. What Biblical character is a hero or an example for you? Which Biblical person do you relate to the most? Our preachers will be sharing with you about a Biblical character who has shaped their life!
On Sunday we will hear from Sharon Goodwin, an amazing lady from Pennsylvania! She will be preaching on Joseph.
We will also be celebrating the men in our life on Sunday! Thank you fathers, grandpas, uncles, brothers and friends for the support and love you have given us over the years!

Hello! I hope you are finding joy this holiday season. I know the holiday season can be hard for some, I pray peace for you this year.
On Sunday I will continue preaching on the gifts of Christmas by discussing Love! Love (along with joy, hope and peace) is a gift of the advent season as we await the telling of the coming of the Christ Child. In fact, love is what it all comes down to. Love is the greatest of all of these.
Advent is a time of expectation and waiting - an exciting time of year when we celebrate the gift of Emmanuel - God with us. Join us Sunday as we celebrate once again, let's celebrate the love that came to us in the Christ child so many years ago.
On Tuesday, December 24th we will have a Christmas Eve service. We will sing carols, take communion together and sing by candlelight. This is a family friendly service, so bring your whole family and celebrate our reason for joy, peace, hope and love!
Blessings to you,
Pastor Shannon

Holy Week: Sunday
Holy Week Readings: Easter Sunday March 31, 2013
This week I am going to post every day readings so that you can walk with Jesus through his final week on earth. Consider the historical, personal and theological ramifications of these things. Allow yourself to be drawn into a more intimate relationship with God. Choose one of the readings for each bullet point or read them all to see how the different gospels deal with it:
* Resurrection witness (Matthew 28:1-8; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-18)
* Resurrection appearances (Matthew 28:9-20; Mark 16:9-18; Luke 24:13-53; John 20:19 - 21:25)
Prayer: Pray for understanding of seeing Christ risen from the grave. Give thanks to God for such an amazing act of power. Allow yourself to be amazed at what God has done.
Join us for Easter Sunday Service this morning at 10am.

* Betrayal and arrest (Matthew 26:47-56; Mark 14:43-50; John 18:1-12)
* Jewish Trial - Jesus appears in three phases in front of 1) Annas (John 18:13-24); 2) Caiaphas and partial Sanhedrin (Matthew 26:57-75; Mark 14:53-65); 3) Sanhedrin fully assembled (Matthew 27:1-2; Mark 15:1)
* Roman Trial - Jesus appeared in three phases before 1) Pilate (Matthew 27:11-14; Mark 15:2-5); 2) Herod Antipas (Luke 23:6-12); 3) Pilate (Matthew 27:15-26; Mark 15:6-15)
Between 9am and 3pm
* Crucifixion, Death and Burial (Matthew 27:27-66; Mark 15:16-47; Luke 23:26-56; John 19:1-42)
Prayer: Spend time contemplating what was done this day - spend time considering that this was so that you might have life. Spend time contemplating how the disciples and family must have mourned. Allow the events of this Friday to overwhelm you and remind you of your faith journey. Spend time praying and speaking to God about all of these things.
Join us tonight for a Good Friday Tenebrae Service - a somber service of remembrance at 6pm.

Hello! I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, I know that I did.
On November 25th I read from several different Psalms and talked about the importance of praising and giving thanks to God. We heard testimonies from lots of the church about how God has been working or how they have seen God this past year. It was an uplifting service, listen here.
On December 2 we will start our Advent series. This is a wonderful time of year where we celebrate the coming of our Lord! Hello! Well this week is Thanksgiving Sunday. For Christians Thanksgiving is so much bigger than just saying what you are thankful for. Our God is good and our God has given us many blessings. This week remember what God has done for you and give thanks!
On Sunday I will preach from Joshua 4. Read it so that you can be prepared as we talk about Stones of Remembrance. We will also celebrate what God has done in the life of our church and our own dear Sarah.
I look forward to seeing you and celebrating together. Remember that you are loved!

Greetings to you! With Halloween over we move into the wonderful holiday season. Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away. I love this time of year!
On Sunday I will be concluding our study of "Signals at the Crossroads." I will be preaching about vision - moving forward from the crossroads into the ministry and plan God has for Harvest Point Church. What an exiting time for our church!
Just as a reminder, this week is the election, so get informed and go vote. Also, remember that we are Christians and citizens of God's Kingdom above any worldly grouping. Keep that at the forefront of your minds and check out this article, 7 Things Christians Need to Remember About Politics: http://www.relevantmagazine.com/current/politics/7-things-christians-need-remember-about-politics

This week is Mother's Day and whether it is a mother or someone else, we all have women in our lives who are supportive, loving and deserve our thanks. Thank you mother's, aunt's, grandma's, sister's, and other women! We appreciate you!
This Sunday will be a special day as we have a baby dedication and will hear about mother's after the heart of God in the sermon. Come as we honor the women in our lives and hear a word from God.

Greetings for Holy Week! This week is both a somber and victorious reminder of what has been done for us through Jesus Christ.
On Sunday I will preach the Easter message - a message of victory, hope and grace for all of us. I'm amazed at what was done for me when Jesus went to the cross...are you amazed? This Sunday we celebrate the Risen Savior, Christ's victory over death and our reason for life. Come and celebrate with us!

This Sunday we will be in a brand new year, 2012! How exciting! I hope that you had a wonderful holiday and had time to celebrate with your friends or family. I look forward with anticipation for what 2012 holds for Harvest Point.
This Sunday we will review 2011. What has God done for you this year? What answers to prayer has God provided? What blessings have you received? In what ways have you seen God at work? Though there are bad things that happen, there are many good things we can focus on as well.
I pray that you will have a fun and safe New Year's Eve and I will see you soon!

This past Sunday I talked about Peace. The peace that Jesus brought with him when he came to earth, peace that is available in all our hearts. A peace that is not about our circumstances, but about serenity in our hearts. These are the scriptures: Luke 2:8-14, excerpts from Isiah 9 and 60, and most importantly John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”
I also played this song, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day":
Pay close attention to this verse:
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”
This week is Christmas, Christmas Day is on a Sunday. We will have a time of celebration, we will sing Christmas carols and we will hear the Christmas story. God is with us - through Jesus Christ who came to us to bring hope, peace, joy and love.
Merry Christmas, dear ones. You are loved!

Sunday evening Brett and I will be hosting our annual Christmas party. Come and be with us, see our home and have some delightful snacks. You are welcome, please just bring yourself from 6-9pm.
